AUSTIN ROBERTS

AUSTIN & TINA

Roughly, when did you work/study/perform with Tina? (years?)

1999-2005

What is your favorite memory of your time with Tina?

Tina would have me rolling in the aisles with every one of her big musical comedy roles - Miss Hannigan, Mame, Matron Mama Morton. Her stage presence and comic timing have always been undeniable!

What was your favorite song that you sang for Tina?

N/A - I played piano! My singing was never great; lessons might have been a good idea.

Did you perform in any community theater musicals with Tina? If so, which ones?

Too many! Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Chicago are two highlights

At which theaters did you perform for Tina?

Playhouse 1960

What is the most valuable lesson you learned from Tina?

Don't hold back! Be yourself, sing out, and never look back.

What did you go on to do in life/career?

US Navy from 2007-2015. Currently settled in North Texas raising a beautiful family of 5

What is your favorite memory of Manny?

Manny believed that I could keep up as the piano accompanist for a full adult musical when I was only 15 years old. I went on to do seven more at Playhouse, and those are some of the fondest memories of my life.

Is there anything you'd like to say to Tina on the occasion of her retirement?

Congratulations! You may be "retired" but you'll never stop being a STAR.
